Antonio Natali
The humanism of Ghiberti and of Michelozzo, his 'companion'
Antonio Natali was the director of the Galleria degli Uffizi from 2006 to 2015, where he worked uninterruptedly from 1981 to 2016. In 2006 he was also appointed professor of Modern Art History at the Milan Polytechnic. Between 2000 and 2010 he taught Museology at the University of Perugia. He focuses mostly on topics related to 15th and 16th century sculpture and painting. He curated the trilogy of exhibitions at Palazzo Strozzi: Bronzino, Pontormo and Rosso, The 16th Century in Florence.
Annamaria Giusti
Paradise Regained: the restoration of Ghiberti's Gates
Annamaria Giusti graduated in history of art at the University of Florence. She was art history director at the Workshop of Hard Stones of Florence (Opificio delle Pietre Dure di Firenze, MIBAC) from 1976 to 2013. She directed the museum, as well as the bronze, mosaic, hard stones and terracotta restoration workshops. Accounts of many of the significant restorations she directed have been presented in the journal of the Opificio and in numerous other publications.
